Sunday service
Sunday is our High Praise day. It’s a day of celebration where we come from our week of challenges and disappointments or victories and blessings to thank the Lord and give Him our praise for his goodness and mercy. It’s a time of fellowship - to join in with our church family and worship together. Many relationships are formed within the church. The church is sometimes the only family some people will have. Our main service is Sunday at 10:00 AM and usually lasts a couple of hours. We spend the better amount of time in Praise and Worship and really allow the Holy Spirit to prepare the hearts of the people to receive the Word of the Lord. “Cheerful Giving” is a high point and something to be experienced. Some Sundays we have special music or Children’s presentations and we always have a good Word from the Lord.
Wednesday Bible study
This is our mid-week meeting. The setting is more of a classroom type situation. The Children and Youth have their own classes and the adults will either have a prayer time together, a single study, or we could be on a series for several weeks. If we are entering a series format, it will be announced during services or through our newsletter or email messages in advance.
The Bible
We are a Word based church, so bringing your Bible is a good idea so that you can follow along during the sermon and not get lost. At Faith Heritage, Pastor Salomon usually preaches out of the New International Version (NIV) and sometimes from the King James Version (KJV).
Worship / Music
Our music is loud. We would be lying if we said our services were quiet and mellow but in truth, we are loud and vibrant. We like to move. We like to jump and be excited about Jesus! The main genre of music played at our church is “Gospel”…two kinds of Gospel – Contemporary Gospel and Black Gospel – otherwise known as “church music”. We love it.
Children / Youth ministries
We have a wonderful Children’s Ministry. The kids absolutely love their teachers and it’s something we believe we are blessed to have. Children are usually dismissed before the sermon takes place where they go to a classroom and learn about Jesus at their level. They participate in crafts, songs, and we always have a snack ready for them. All teachers and volunteers are screened and must be able to pass a background check in order to be apart of the Children’s Ministry.
Vision and outreach
We are a working church. We believe we are to be a light in a dark world. One of our foundational scriptures is Isaiah 61.
